Mediation & Facilitation
About

Cleveland Mediation Center offers mediation and facilitation services to allow individuals and organizations to resolve disputes efficiently and amicably.

Mediation is a conflict resolution process in which a trained intermediary facilitates conversation between conflicting parties to resolve their concerns. Mediation allows stakeholders to discuss their perspectives, gain clarity, correct misunderstandings, problem-solve, and develop a plan to resolve the issue and prevent future conflict.

Our staff mediates cases across many categories, from neighborhood conflict to dissolution of marriage or business disputes. Fees vary depending on the type of case (listed below).

To get started, request a no-fee 15-minute phone consult appointment to determine if your case is appropriate for mediation and to discuss next steps.

Family Mediation

Mediation allows parties to navigate the challenging and emotionally complex issues they face, providing a structured and empathetic approach that fosters constructive dialogue and mutually agreeable outcomes.

Fees:

$225 per 90-minute session, typically paid split between parties. An income-based sliding fee scale is available.

Mediation provides family members with a supportive environment for difficult conversations and allows parties to weigh options, make decisions, and work toward mutually agreeable solutions.

  • Dissolution of Marriage (Divorce)
Working with a mediator to negotiate the terms of a divorce can be an excellent option if parties want to make decisions together and need some help to do so. Parties must both be willing to come together and negotiate in good faith during the mediation. We recommend that both parties have their own attorney, however attorneys need not be present or represent parties in mediation. The mediator will work directly with the divorcing parties to help them discuss, weigh, and select possible outcomes together. Mediation is both more affordable and more amicable than litigation.

  • Child Custody and Parenting Plans
Create child custody arrangements and parenting plans. Parental responsibilities, child support, visitation schedules, and co-parenting arrangements are common topics in family mediation.

  • Elder Care and Guardianship
Resolve conflicts related to the care and guardianship of elderly family members, including decisions about living arrangements, healthcare, and financial management.

  • Probate and Estate

  • Blended Families

  • Family Business Disputes
